Alexander Heiser

Alexander was born on August 25th, 1886 in Mile End. Alexander's father was Michael Heiser and his mother was Charlotte Mendes. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Heiser and Sarah Levy; his maternal grandparents were Mordecai (Alexander) Elisha Mendes and Elizabeth Abrahams. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Jack John, Sidney, Alfred, David, Reuben, Elizabeth, Bessie, Edyth, Sarah and Hetty. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 65 in 1951.¹

General Notes
- Alex and his brother Sid ran the pickle business until 1950's when they sold up due to supermarket competition. One of their sons, Michael, went into the business and proved a good businessman. Michael died in his 60's but his widow had interesting histories

Alexander and Ethel were married in a religious ceremony on June 9th, 1910 in East London Synagogue.²³ They had two sons and a daughter, named Harry, Derek and Lotte.
