Mary Ann Stones

Mary was born in 1842 in Rawcliffe, East Riding, Yorkshire and her christening took place there on December 26th, 1842.¹² Mary's father was Charles Emanuel Stones and her mother was Harriet Mary Hall. Her maternal grandparents were William Hall and Mary Hepworth. She had six brothers and eight sisters, named James, William, Robert, John, Frederick, Alexander, Hannah, Elizabeth, Emma, Sarah, Sarah, Miriam, Minnie and Ada. She was the oldest of the fifteen children.
