Thomas was born in 1734 in Kellington, Yorkshire and his christening took place there on July 7th, 1734.1 2   Thomas' father was Nicholas Moverley and his mother was Mary  Ward. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Nicholas, Abraham, Mary, Ann, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.
