Elizabeth was born in 1740 in Kellington, Yorkshire and her christening took place there on August 17th, 1740.1 2   Elizabeth's father was Nicholas Moverley and her mother was Mary  Ward. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, Nicholas, Abraham, Mary, Ann and Mary.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.
