Jane was born on November 21st, 1841 in St Pancras, Middlesex and her christening took place on December 12th, 1841 in Saint Andrew, Holborn, Middlesex.1   Jane's father was Charles Norrington and her mother was Mary Ann Benton.  Her maternal grandparents were Edward Benton and Ann Griffiths. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Henry, William, Mary  and Emma.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 48 in June 1890.2
