Henry was born on March 12th, 1837 in St Pancras, Middlesex and his christening took place on April 2nd, 1837 in Saint Andrew, Holborn, Middlesex.1 2   Henry's father was Charles Norrington and his mother was Mary Ann Benton.  His maternal grandparents were Edward Benton and Ann Griffiths. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Charles, William, Mary , Emma and Jane.  He was the third youngest of the six children.
