William Hockley

William was born in 1752 in Thaxted, Essex and his christening took place on March 22nd, 1752 in Thaxted Parish Church, Essex.¹² William's father was James Hockley and his mother was Elizabeth Butcher. His paternal grandparents were William Hockley and Mary Bentley. He had five brothers and a sister, named James, Daniel, John, Daniel, William and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the seven children.
