John Hockley

John was born in 1746 in Thaxted, Essex and his christening took place on July 6th, 1746 in Thaxted Parish Church, Essex.¹² John's father was James Hockley and his mother was Elizabeth Butcher. His paternal grandparents were William Hockley and Mary Bentley. He had five brothers and a sister, named James, Daniel, Daniel, William, William and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the seven children.
