Walter Hayes

Walter was born on October 23rd, 1870 in Whitechapel, Middlesex and his christening took place on November 27th, 1870 in Christ Church, Spitalfields, Middlesex.¹²

Walter's father was James Thomas Hayes and his mother was Elizabeth Penn. His paternal grandparents were William Chetwyn Hayes and Maria Briggs; his maternal grandparents were Henry John Penn and Charlotte Bott. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Henry, Frederick, James, William, Albert, Elizabeth and Maria. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 33 in 1903 in St Pancras, Middlesex.³
