Maria Louisa Hayes

Maria was born on January 9th, 1873 in Sewardstone, Essex and her christening took place on March 2nd, 1873 in Chingford, Essex.¹²

Maria's father was James Thomas Hayes and her mother was Elizabeth Penn. Her paternal grandparents were William Chetwyn Hayes and Maria Briggs; her maternal grandparents were Henry John Penn and Charlotte Bott. She had six brothers and a sister, named Henry, Frederick, James, Walter, William, Albert and Elizabeth. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 87 in 1960 in Bishops Stortford, Hertforshire.³
