Peter's father was Peter Turner and his mother was Catherine Fotheringham Archibald. His paternal grandparents were Peter Turner Sr. and Mary Russell. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Robert, William, John, George, Bryce, Frank, Annie and Mary. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 77 on May 6th, 1940 in Toronto.
