George's father was Peter Turner and his mother was Catherine Fotheringham Archibald.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Turner Sr. and Mary Russell. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Peter, Robert, William, John, Bryce, Frank, Annie and Mary.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 57 on January 27th, 1927 in Alameda.  The funeral took place in California.^3 4
