Loretta's father was John Towers and her mother was Maude Gertrude Hunter. Her paternal grandparents were Walter Colquhoun Towers and Jane (Jean, Jeanie) Kerr. She had two brothers and a sister, named Milton, Howard and Peggy. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 66 on August 12th, 1980 in Monterey. She was buried in San Mateo.³⁴
