Mary's father was Andrew Taylor and her mother was Ann Scoffield.  Her maternal grandparents were James Scoffield and Jane Bone. She had six brothers and five sisters, named James, Andrew, Robert, Andrew, David, Joseph, Barbra, Annie, Jannet, Janet and Jane.  She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 3 in 1825 in St. Quivox.
