James Taylor

James was born on August 22nd, 1808 in Newton-on-Ayr and his baptism took place on September 4th, 1808 in St. Quivox.¹

James' father was Andrew Taylor and his mother was Ann Scoffield.  His maternal grandparents were James Scoffield and Jane Bone. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Andrew, Robert, Andrew, David, Joseph, Barbra, Annie, Jannet, Janet, Mary and Jane.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 37 on August 29th, 1845 in Ayrshire.  He was buried in Kilmarnock.^2 3
