William Stratis, DFC

William, known as Andrea, was born in August 1918 in Cardiff.¹

Andrea's father was Simon Stratis and his mother was Mary Frew McBarron. His maternal grandparents were William McBarron and Annie Robertson. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Randy, George, George, Randolph, Dorothy and Leah. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died as a war casualty at the age of 25 on June 6th, 1944 in France. His body was never found.²¹
