George's father was Simon Stratis and his mother was Mary Frew McBarron. His maternal grandparents were William McBarron and Annie Robertson. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Randy, George, Andrea, Randolph, Dorothy and Leah. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 54 on October 13th, 1976 in Chilliwack. He was buried in British Columbia.¹²
