Margaret's father was Hugh Savage and her mother was Margaret Dickson.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Savage and Elspeth Bone. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Robert, David, Francis, Grace, Elspeth, Daniel, Agnes and Minia.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She had a half-sister named Grace.  She died at the age of 78 on December 9th, 1935 in Kilmarnock.  She was buried in Kilmarnock.^3 3
