William Robertson

William was born in 1812 in Newton-on-Ayr.¹² William's father was William Robertson and his mother was Elspeth Thomson. His paternal grandparents were George Robertson and Mary Cochran; his maternal grandparents were Robert Thomson and Janet Shipherd. He had four brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, George, James and Janet. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died from a stroke, Athenoma, cerebral hemorrhage, at the age of 76 on March 24th, 1888 in Hurlford.³
