John McMurran

John was born in February 1841 in Newton-on-Ayr.^1 2   John's father was John McMurran and his mother was Agnes Robertson.  His paternal grandparents were William McMurran and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Robertson and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, George, William, Thomas, Alice and Agnes.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
