Richard Marshall

Richard was born in 1844 in Shotts.^1 2   Richard's father was John Marshall and his mother was Margaret Black.  His paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Elizabeth Hamilton. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, George, Gavin and Marion.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Margaret.  He died at the age of 27 in 1871 in Shotts.
