George Hill Marshall

George was born on March 4th, 1850 in Shotts.^1 2   George's father was John Marshall and his mother was Margaret Black.  His paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Elizabeth Hamilton. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Richard, Gavin and Marion.  He was the second youngest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Margaret.  He died at the age of 5 on February 9th, 1856.  He was buried in Shotts.^1 1
