John Marshall 
John was born in 1836 in Bathgate.1 John's father was John Marshall and his mother was Mary Sommerville. His paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Elizabeth Hamilton. He had a brother and four sisters, named James, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Margaret. He was the second youngest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Richard, George, Gavin and Marion.
