John Marshall

John was born on December 3rd, 1802 in Shotts and his baptism took place there conducted by Reverend Easton.¹²

John's father was James Marshall and his mother was Elizabeth Hamilton. His paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Margaret Mitchell; his maternal grandparents were John Hamilton and Elizabeth Fleming. He had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth, Margaret and Agness. He died at the age of 83 on May 24th, 1886 in Wester Dunsyston.
