Marion was born on July 13th, 1847 in Shotts.1 2 Marion's father was John Marshall and her mother was Margaret Black. Her paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Elizabeth Hamilton. She had four brothers named Thomas, Richard, George and Gavin. She was the third oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Margaret. She died at the age of 36 in 1883 in Shotts.- Death Notes
