John Marshall

John was born in 1843 in Shotts.¹² John's father was James Marshall and his mother was Christina Ballantine. His paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Elizabeth Hamilton. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Thomas, Gavin, Anne, Elizabeth, Margaret and Christina. He was the second youngest of the eight children.
