William Kirkwood

William was born in January 1706 in Kilsyth and his baptism took place there on February 3rd, 1706.

William's father was John Kirkwood and his mother was Isabel Hendrie.  His maternal grandparents were James Hendrie and Isabel Strathan. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, James, William, Isobel, Christian, Barbara and Margaret.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
