William Kirkwood

William was born in December 1712 in Kilsyth and his baptism took place there on December 15th, 1712.

William's father was John Kirkwood and his mother was Isabel Hendrie.  His maternal grandparents were James Hendrie and Isabel Strathan. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, James, Isobel, Christian, Barbara and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
