James Cunningham

James was born on March 10th, 1796 in Kirkliston and his baptism took place there on March 20th, 1796.¹²

James' father was James Cunningham and his mother was Elisabeth Walker. His paternal grandparents were John Cunningham and Hellen Aitken; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Walker and Janet Broun. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Archibald, Alexander, Janet, Helen and Elisabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 61 on March 16th, 1857 in Coatbridge. He was buried in Uphall.¹¹
