Agnes' father was William Shaw Cree and her mother was Agnes Bryan Munachen. Her maternal grandparents were William Munachen and Catherine Robertson. She had seven brothers and a sister, named William, John, George, James, Euphemia, Andrew, Peter and Kate. She was the oldest of the nine children. She had a half-brother named Peter. She died at the age of 1 in 1899 in Ayr.
