Reuben Blount was born on March 30th, 1819 in Sevier County, Tennessee.  Reuben Blount's father was Isaac Love and his mother was Mary Lewis.  His maternal grandparents were Mordecai Lewis and Mary Ziegler. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named William King, James Thomas, Alexander Preston, Andrew Martin, Mordecai Lewis, Isaac Moore, Elizabeth Thompson, John Wesley, Mary Lewis, Susannah, Sally KenCannon, Catherine McDonald and Margaret Mitchell Wear.  He was the eighth oldest of the fourteen children.
