Esther Slayton 
Esther was born on August 18th, 1850.1 Esther's father was Daniel W. Slayton and her mother was Mary Shiltz. Her paternal grandparents were Luther Slayton and Almina Preston; her maternal grandparents were John Shiltz and Catherine. She had thirteen brothers and three sisters, named James W., Phineas Edwin, Phineas Edwin, George A, George Albert, John N, Cyrus E, Thadeus Jacob, Thadeus Jacob, Samuel Vernon, Samuel Vernon, Isaac, Isaac, Elizabeth J., Catherine and Catherine. She was the second oldest of the seventeen children.1 -
