Catherine Slayton 
Catherine was born on September 25th, 1866 in Wyoma, Mason, WV.1 Catherine's father was Daniel W. Slayton and her mother was Mary Shiltz. Her paternal grandparents were Luther Slayton and Almina Preston; her maternal grandparents were John Shiltz and Catherine. She had thirteen brothers and three sisters, named James W., Phineas Edwin, Phineas Edwin, George A, George Albert, John N, Cyrus E, Thadeus Jacob, Thadeus Jacob, Samuel Vernon, Samuel Vernon, Isaac, Isaac, Esther, Elizabeth J. and Catherine. She was the fourth youngest of the seventeen children.1 -
