Maud was born in 1240 in Shere, Surrey, England. Maud's father was John FitzGeoffrey and her mother was Isobel De Bigod. Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey FitzPiers De Mandeville and Aveline De Clare; her maternal grandparents were Hugh De Bigod and Maud Marshall. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Richard, Avelina, Isabel and Joan. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had two half-sisters named Margaret and Maud. She died at the age of 61 on April 18th, 1301 in Grey Friars, Worcestershire, England. She was buried on May 7th, 1301.General Notes
