Joan De Beaufort 
Joan was born in 1398 in Westiminster, Middlesex, England. Joan's father was John De Beaufort and her mother was Margaret De Holand. Her paternal grandparents were John of Gaunt and Catherine Roet; her maternal grandparents were Thomas De Holand and Alice Fitzalan. She had four brothers and a sister, named Henry, John, Thomas, Edmund and Margaret. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 47 on July 15th, 1445 in Dunbar Castle, East Lothian, Scotland. She was buried on November 22nd, 1445 in Charter House, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland.General Notes

Joan Beaufort (d. 15 July 1445), Queen of Scotland, the niece of J oan
Beaufort the daughter of John of Gaunt, was the daughter of his son John
Beaufort and Margaret Holland. In 1424 this Joan married James I of
Scotlan d. They had eight children. He was murdered in 1437, and in 1439
Joan married James Stewart, the Black Knight of Lorn (~1383 - >1451).
They had one child: John Stewart (John of Balveny), 1st Earl of Atholl.
