Anthony Rucker 
Anthony was born about 1740 in Amherst Co., VA, USA. Anthony's father was John Rucker and his mother was Susannah. His paternal grandparents were Peter Rucker and Elizabeth Fielding; his maternal grandparents were William Phillips and Susaanah Lloyd. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Peter, Reubin, John, Benjamin, Ambrose, Isaac, Margaret, Sarah, Phoebe, Mildred and Winifred. He was the youngest of the twelve children. He died on February 17th, 1821 in Amherst Co., VA, USA.General Notes

Batteau
The James River Batteau was a tobacco boat used to transport tobacco down
river to Richmond. Each year the event is celebrated in Lynchburg with a
replica sailing down the James River.
Anthony Rucker, Deputy Commissioner of Provisional Law, Amherst County,
1781. A Captain in the Revolution. The diary of Colonel Landon Carter,
Sabin Hall, Richmond County, VA indicates that he sent a letter by
Captain Rucker requesting "victuals to the regiment". Seems as though
they were out of bacon!
