Susanna was born about 1800. Susanna's father was William , Jr. Gilreath and her mother was Sarah "Sallie" Jones. Her paternal grandparents were William Gilreath and Mary Arrington. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Hugh, Henry H., Hardie Jones, William Hilliar., Hiram, Martha P., Delilah and Rebecca. She is the youngest of the nine children.-
