Nichola d'Aubigny was born in Barrow on Soar, Leicester,or Arundel, Sussex, England.  Nichola d'Aubigny's father was William V d'Aubigny de Albini and her mother was Mabel de Kevelioc de Meschines of Chester.  Her paternal grandparents were William IV le Breton d'Aubigny de Albini and Maud de St. Hilary du Harcourt; her maternal grandparents were Hugh de Kevelioc de Meschines and Bertrade d'Evreux de Montfort. She had two brothers and four sisters, named William, Hugh, Cicely, Colet, Isabella d'Aubigny and Matilda. She had seven half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Odinel, Nicholas, Robert, William d'Aubigny, Robert Dunkeld of, John Scot of, Henry de Brechin of, Ada of, Margaret Dunkeld of, Maud of and Isobella Dunkeld le Scot of.  She died in Dudley Castle, Staffordshire, England.
