Adeliza de Brabant of was born in 1103 in Louvain, Belgium.  Adeliza de Brabant of's father was Godfrey VII the Bearded Barbutus of Louvaine and her mother was Ida of Chiny & Namur.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry II of Brabant & Louvain and Adelaide (Adela) von der Betuwe of Thuringa; her maternal grandparents were Otto II of Chiny and Adelaide of Namur. She had a brother and a sister, named Godfrey II Lothier of and Ida of Lower. She had a half-brother named Joscelin.  She died about April 23rd, 1151 in Afflighem Abbey, Flanders, France.  She was buried in 1151 in Afflighem, Flanders.
