Simon I Le Chauve was born about 1025 in Montfort Amaury, Ile de France, France.  Simon I Le Chauve's father was Amauri II de Montfort and his mother was Bertrade de Gometz.  His paternal grandfather was William de Montfort Bastinbourg of Hainault and his paternal grandmother is Albreda Montfort de Esperon; his maternal grandfather was William I de Gometz-la-Ferte. He had two brothers and a sister, named Mainer, Avenelle de Montfort and Eva de Montfort.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died in 1087.  He was buried in 1087 in Epernon, Normandy, France.
