Charles II was born in Frankfort, on-Main.  Charles II's father was Louis I "The Pious" Emperor of the Holy Roman and his mother was Judith Princess Of Bavaria.  His paternal grandparents were Charlemagne Emperor Of The Holy Roman and Hildegard Princess Of Alemannien; his maternal grandparents are Guelph I Duke of Bavaria and Edith. He had two sisters named Gisela and Adbelahide. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Arnould, Lothaire, Pepin I, Louis, Ludwig II "The German", Hildegarde, Alpaide and Rotrude.  He died in Brios, France.

‌Charles II and Ermntrude were married in a religious ceremony.  They had four sons and six daughters, named Carloman, Lothaire, Charles, Louis II, Judith, Rotrude, Ermentrude Abbess Of, Hildegarde, Gisaele and Rothaut.
