Rothilde was born in 0871 in Frankfort am Main, Germany.  Rothilde's father was Charles II King of France and her mother was Richeut Von Metz.  Her paternal grandparents were Louis I "The Pious" Emperor of the Holy Roman and Judith Princess Of Bavaria; her maternal grandparents were Budwine Count Of Metz and Richilde De Arles. She had a sister named Rothaut. She had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Carloman, Lothaire, Charles, Louis II, Judith, Rotrude, Ermentrude Abbess Of, Hildegarde and Gisaele.
