Robert Purcel was born on February 12th, 1847 in Shelby,IN. Robert Purcel's father was Leo Hardy Worland and his mother was Margaret Valentine Louden. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Worland and Verlinda Hardy; his maternal grandparents were David Louden and UNKNOWN Susan. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named John David, Thomas Louden, William Leo, Vincent Oliver, Simon Brute, Celestine Hollandiere, James Gregory, Susannah, Verlinda and Margaret Ann. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 40 on April 7th, 1887 in St. Paul,Neosho,KS.General Notes

Mr. William Morgan received a telegram today from Joseph Newton, dated at Osage Mission, Kansas, announcing the death of Robert Worland at 4 o'clock this morning. Mr. Worland was a former resident of Shelbyville and will be remembered by many of our people.
