Robert James Shields

Robert James was born on December 7th, 1833. Robert James' father was John Shields and his mother was Esther Black. His maternal grandparents were James Black and Abigail A. R. Taylor. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Hugh Paul, Archibald Campbell, John William, Martha Ann, Sarah Jane, Elizabeth Frances, Nancy Taylor and Susan Millen. He was the oldest of the nine children.
