Hugh Paul Shields

Hugh Paul was born on April 28th, 1836. Hugh Paul's father was John Shields and his mother was Esther Black. His maternal grandparents were James Black and Abigail A. R. Taylor. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Robert James, Archibald Campbell, John William, Martha Ann, Sarah Jane, Elizabeth Frances, Nancy Taylor and Susan Millen. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
