Melissa Ellen was born on January 1st, 1860 in Shelby,IN. Melissa Ellen's father was Hamilton MORRIS and her mother was Nancy Dorcas McCABE. Her paternal grandparents were William Godfrey Morris and Nancy Young. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William Thomas, Edwin Ruthven, Oliver Perry, Charles O., Francis Marion, Amanda Jane, Priscilla Wheeler, Mary Alice and Didamia Rusher. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 3 on July 28th, 1863 in Shelby,IN. She was buried in Morris Cemetery.-
