William was born about 1725 in Princess,VA. William's father was William Morris and his mother was Elizabeth Tooley. His paternal grandfather was Josiah Morris. He had seven brothers named James, Arthur, Josiah, Jonathan, Francis, Thomas and Cornelius. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died on December 6th, 1790 in Princess Anne,VA.
