Amanda Jane was born on February 23rd, 1857 in ,Shelby,IN. Amanda Jane's father was Hamilton MORRIS and her mother was Nancy Dorcas McCABE. Her paternal grandparents were William Godfrey Morris and Nancy Young. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William Thomas, Edwin Ruthven, Oliver Perry, Charles O., Francis Marion, Melissa Ellen, Priscilla Wheeler, Mary Alice and Didamia Rusher. She was the third oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 78 on January 3rd, 1936 in Madison State Hospital,Madison,Indiana. She was buried in Forest Hill cemetery Shelbyville.General Notes
