Martha was born on September 23rd, 1812 in ,Woodford County,KY. Martha's father was James Black and her mother was Abigail A. R. Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Black and Ann Spears. She had six brothers and four sisters, named David, Robert, John, Samuel, James, William, Ann Spears, Esther, Jane and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 84 on August 16th, 1897 in ,Woodford,KY. She was buried in Ebebezer Church Cemetery,Jessamine,KY.General Notes
