Harvey was born on June 26th, 1816 in ,Woodford County,KY. Harvey's father was Robert Guyn and his mother was Jane Black. His paternal grandparents were Robert Guyn and Jane Raburn; his maternal grandparents were Robert Black and Ann Spears. He had ten brothers and three sisters, named Robert, James, John, Hugh Spears, Samuel Raburn, Moses Campbell, William, Thomas Reed, Andrew Rainey, Adam Rankin, Jane Spears, Louisa Ann and Paulina. He was the third youngest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 50 on August 23rd, 1866 in ,Woodford County,KY. He was buried in Ebebezer Church Cemetery,Jessamine,KY.-
